Cromok’S arrival in Malaysia, in the late 1980s, was just a stop short of spectacular. The band had already made itself known in Australia largely with the Malaysian student population there.When its debut album, Image of Purity, was released,the album sold over 40,000 copies here inside a year, no mean feat considering the lack of airplay and the limited appeal of mainstream media publicity. The Malaysian underground scene was only gaining momentum at the point.

Fifteen years and about half a dozen albums down the road, it’s good to hear that, musically, the band appears to be as focused as it used to be during the glory years. Sure, two from the original line-up are not present one died and another went his own way, but the core of Sam and Miji remains, supplemented by veteran lead guitarist Hillary Ang, a man who is as close as it gets to cult guitar-hero status here.


They were known as one of the pioneer of underground bands in Malaysia.Cromok was formed by 4 members that time, Din, Karl, Miji and Sam.But nowadays, there are only left Karl, Miji and Sam. After Din left the group, he formed his own band which known as D'Cromok. But, Din was died after he released his own album D'Cromok around 1997.May God Bless him....Their music concept is more to speed thrash with Malays elements for example Siblings,Metallurgical and the most popular song is 'Another You'
